Croydon Council is updating its Equality and Inclusion Policy to ensure the borough continues to be a place where people want to live and work - a place where everyone has fair and equal opportunities and life chances.
The draft interim Equality and Inclusion Policy 2014-16 sets out the new administration's vision and ambition for equality and inclusion and will enable the Council to:
" Get to know our diverse local community and understand its needs
" Provide responsive and accessible services and excellent customer care
" Improve engagement with residents and strengthen partnership working
with voluntary and community groups
" Provide strong leadership, partnership and organisational commitment
for the equality and inclusion agenda
" Work towards becoming an employer of choice by recruiting, developing
and retaining an efficient, talented and motivated workforce that broadly
reflects the communities that we serve at all levels
To make sure that the draft interim equality and inclusion policy includes the most important actions that will make a real difference in addressing people's needs and concerns, we are asking residents, people who use our services, those who are employed by the council and our community and voluntary sector partners to tell us whether they agree with them or not.
